This course moves on from Digital Life and Work and Digital Devices. It is for anyone with a little experience of using a laptop or desktop computer and want to learn more about the functions. This can include using Google or Microsoft. How to create files and becoming more confident using a range of applications. The course will be tailored to individual needs to ensure that everyone will get the most from the course. This course is specifically designed for absolute beginners. Whether you have hardly touched a computer before, or you’ve tried once or twice and felt overwhelmed, this is the place for you. It is ideal for individuals looking to gain independence in a world that is increasingly moving online.

Entry Requirements

Have some prior knowledge of digital devices or using a computer

What You Will Learn

How to gain confidence using a range of applications. Tailored to your individual needs. You will be constantly practicing using the computer. You will be given step by step guides on how to use the various aspects of a computer, and the tutor will provide live demonstrations on what you will be doing.

Course Aim

Course Aim Learn how to turn the computer on and off, use a mouse to click and scroll, and navigate the physical setup. Screen Navigation: Understand how to use the Desktop, work with icons, and open or close different programs and windows. Keyboard Basics: Get comfortable with the keyboard layout and learn how to use essential keys like Spacebar, Backspace, and Enter. You will learn how to create folders, use word or google documents and learn how to develop your skills in a range of applications.
