Discover the magic of stop-motion animation in this hands-on family workshop! Learn how to create your own mini-movies using simple tools, clay, and creativity. This course is for parents/carers to attend with their children to complete a family activity. Parents/carers can bring up to two children per adult, and children must be a minimum of 6 years old and a maximum of 18 years old. Upon completion of your enrolment form, an additional short form will be sent to you to confirm childrens' names and ages prior to attending. Course Description: This family-friendly workshop introduces parents and children to the exciting world of stop-motion animation. Designed for beginners, the session will guide participants through the process of planning, creating, and animating their own short film. Parents will gain practical skills to continue this fun and creative activity at home, while children will enjoy hands-on learning and storytelling through animation. Whether you’re crafting bouncing balls, exploring space adventures, or creating clay characters, this workshop promises a memorable experience for the whole family. Who Is This Course For? This course is designed for parents or guardians with children aged 6 and above. Families will work together to develop their creative skills while learning new techniques in stop-motion animation. What Will I Learn? Participants will: Understand the basics of stop-motion animation and how it works. Plan and storyboard a simple animation idea. Create characters and sets using clay and household materials. Use a smartphone or tablet to capture and edit stop-motion frames. Develop teamwork and problem-solving skills by collaborating as a family. Take home practical tips for creating animations independently. How Will I Be Assessed? Formative Assessment: Ongoing feedback provided throughout the session by the instructor. Observation of family teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving during activities. Summative Assessment: Families will produce a completed short animation by the end of the workshop. Group playback and review of animations, with positive feedback and suggestions.
