This GCSE Science course allows learners to study for the combined award and covers content including Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The combined award results in learners being awarded the equivalent of 2 GCSEs once the assessments are successfully completed. It is ideal for those looking to:

Entry Requirements
Attendance at a short interview
A minimum of Level 1 Functional Skills English or a GCSE English Grade 2 (E) is usually required.
A basic level of math is essential, as approximately 10% to 15% of the marks in Biology exams come from mathematical applications.
An initial assessment/interview may be required to ensure this is the right level for you.

How you will be assessed
Assessment is 100% exam-based at the end of the academic year. There is no coursework, though your knowledge of practical experiments will be tested within the written papers.
Number of Papers: 6 (Two Biology, two Chemistry, and two Physics).
Duration: Each paper is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Tiers: You will be entered for either Foundation Tier (Grades 1-1 to 5-5) or Higher Tier (Grades 4-4 to 9-9) based on your progress throughout the year.
