Who is this course for?
This course is for adults who are new to AI. It suits people who want to build their digital skills and confidence. It is good for learners going back to study, and for staff in any job who want to try tools like Co-Pilot. You do not need to know about AI before you start.

What You Will Learn
By the end of the course you will be able to:
Say in simple words what AI is, and name two or three tools.
Open an AI tool and log in safely.
Follow steps to write a clear prompt.
Use AI to help with three jobs: write a short message, sum up some text, and get ideas.
Make a simple picture from words.
Notice when an answer might be wrong, and know not to type in private details.
Course Aim
To help beginners feel confident and learn the basic steps to use an AI tool safely for simple, everyday jobs.
Course Length
18 hours in total, 6 weekly sessions of 3 hours.
What You Will Need to Bring
Nothing - just a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
How You Will Learn
Classroom teaching/Lectures, Practical exercises/Workshops, Group discussions/Collaboration, Online/Self-study modules.
Most of your time is spent having a go on a device, with the tutor close by to help. The tutor shows you each step first, explaining the what, why and how. You also work in pairs and share what you made with the group.
How you will be assessed
Practical assessment/Demonstration, Portfolio submission
