Who is this course for?

Individuals wanting to focus solely on bookkeeping to start a career. Ideal for beginners, those needing formal recognition of existing skills, or those looking to become a self-employed bookkeeper. Covers manual double-entry bookkeeping.

Entry Requirements

AAT L1 course or English & Maths at at least Level 1 (ie Functional Skills)

What You Will Learn

1) Introduction to Bookkeeping 2) Principles of Bookkeeping Controls. You will be evaluated through online exams with time limits during the programme, you can then complete two more units to upgrade your qualification to the full L2 Certificate in Accounting but if you chose to do this you have to pay additional AAT membership fee for registration.

Course Aim

The purpose of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping is to offer grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress either to employment or to further study.

Course Length

16 weeks Learners progressing to the L2 Accounting Qualification will undertake a further 21 weeks of study, with the course finishing in July.

How You Will Learn

Classroom based teaching and practice exercises to develop accounting skills, This will include practice exams on paper and on computers, developing your IT skills and exam readiness in our computer suites. AAT content slides with explanation and discussion. Group work tasks, paired tasks and individual tasks in class. Computer based practice tasks on Google Classroom/ AAT platforms.
